AmaZulu FC appear to be preparing for the upcoming season, with the Durban-based club reportedly signing Celimpilo Ngema from Marumo Gallants. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has been on the radar of both AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs, with a close source confirming that Ngema has signed a pre-contract with Usuthu.
The signing of Ngema could spell an uncertain future for current AmaZulu midfielder Hendrick ‘Pule’ Ekstein, with the source claiming that the South African international could be allowed to leave the club at the end of the season.
“Celimpilo Ngema will be leaving Marumo Gallants at the end of the season. His contract will finish in June, and he has decided against extending it. He has signed a pre-contract with AmaZulu,” said the source.
“The boy is seen as a direct replacement for Pule Ekstein whose future with AmaZulu is in doubt. Although he is back training with the first team, Ekstein is facing uncertain future at the club and could be allowed to leave at the end of the season. Ngema’s signing is part of the preparations for that,” the source concluded.
