Troubled Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) are facing yet another crisis as their players have decided to down tools just days before the resumption of their Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign.
This follows a prolonged battle for players to receive their salaries, despite the club’s public utterances that players have been paid. Tebogo Monyai, Vice President of the South African Football Players Union (SAFPU), told the Siya crew that TTM players have been instructed to down tools in the Limpopo-based side’s next match.
Monyai added that the only way to put an end to this type of behaviour is for players to take a stand and say enough is enough. The club have also been unable to register players after receiving a ban from FIFA and could now be in jeopardy of a walk-over in their next fixture.
Monyai believes that the league could fine TTM almost R700 000 per game and that they will be forced to pay as quickly as possible.
“I can tell you now, that SAFPU is on the verge of making this happen with the players going to January’s game that TTM is supposed to play, I don’t see that game taking place,” he said.
