Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter spoke out on the current state of the DStv Premiership, particularly in regards to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Truter, who is affectionately known as ‘Brakkies’, claimed that tactically, any coach could compete with the Brazilians, but it’s their deep pockets that sets them aside. “Sundowns are so far ahead of everybody but because of the quality they have.
I think tactically every coach can compete against Sundowns but its down to the quality,” Truter said. The outspoken coach also questioned the Chloorkop outfit’s spending habits, with no set financial fair play rules set in the PSL.
He believes that the lack of financial regulations is what gives Sundowns an edge over the rest of the teams in the league.
Truter’s comments come after his 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs, and the debate that has been sparked around the topic of Sundowns potentially wrapping up the DStv Premiership title.
