On Monday, Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart took young Samkelo Zwane under his wing following the departure of his midfield partner, Njabulo Blom.
Maart had started the season in a host of various midfield partnerships, before coach Arthur Zwane shifted Blom from right back into a flourishing combo with Maart. However, halfway through the campaign, Blom was sold to MLS outfit ST Louis City, leaving Maart to establish a new partnership with the fresh-faced Zwane.
The 18-year-old has since been making strides in the Chiefs first team, with Maart providing guidance and support to the up-and-coming youngster. With Maart’s experienced guidance, Zwane has been able to make a smooth transition into the first team, and the pair have already begun to form a formidable midfield duo.
As they continue to develop their partnership on the pitch, Chiefs fans can look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour in the near future.
