Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has commented on the club’s transfer plans in the January transfer window.
Two of the club’s peripheral figures, Kwame Peprah and Ntsako Makhubela, have already secured loan moves to Maritzburg United and Golden Arrows respectively.
Riveiro has eluded that there could be more players making way at the Buccaneers, while they could also be welcoming new faces into the fold. The Spanish coach has also been heavily linked with a move for Marou Souaibou, the Cameroonian striker who has scored 30 goals in 63 matches.
When asked about his transfer plans, Riveiro said: “I don’t spend so much time thinking about possible players that are coming.
There’s a market which is one side and the other side is the current group of players we have in our hands and my job and responsibility is to help them to be better players and to play together as good as possible.”
He added: “We are wishing all the best to the players who worked with us and are not gonna be working with us this season, because they are all good players and good professionals and they really deserve to shine and when it’s not possible to shine here, there is other places where they can do it and hopefully, we can see it.”
When asked if he would be making any further additions to his current squad, Riveiro said he already has the ideal squad to compete for the rest of the season.
