Kaizer Chiefs suffered back-to-back defeats in the DStv Premiership after going down 4-0 to AmaZulu FC on Friday night. The loss was the second consecutive defeat for Amakhosi, who were unable to find the back of the net in the Moses Mabhida Stadium encounter.
The hosts opened the scoring through Dumisani Zuma’s free header from a corner by George Maluleka, who was playing against his former side. Chiefs were handed a lifeline shortly thereafter with a penalty in their favour after Ashley Du Preez was brought down in the box, but Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana’s spot-kick was smothered by goalkeeper Veli Mothwa.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele doubled AmaZulu’s lead eight minutes before the interval with a header in the box after shot-stopper Itumeleng Khune could not collect Maluleka’s corner. Junior Dion then added a third goal on the stroke of halftime, putting pressure on Khune from a poor back pass.
Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane made tactical changes in the second half, bringing on Kgaogelo Sekgota and Dillan Solomons, but his side could not find a way back into the game. AmaZulu added a fourth goal in stoppage time, courtesy of Bonginkosi Ntuli, who rounded Khune to slot into an empty net.
The win took Usuthu up to fifth on the table, three points behind fourth-placed Chiefs ahead of the weekend fixtures.
