The Buccaneers have dropped down to ninth on the table after suffering back-to-back defeats, most recently a 2-1 loss to Cape Town City last weekend.
Golden Arrows, meanwhile, come to the game in a better frame of mind after getting back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over SuperSport United last weekend. They are seventh on the standings, with the same number of points as three other teams, including Pirates, but boast a superior goal difference.
The visitors will be without Siyabonga Khumalo due to suspension after he was sent off in the tail end of the loss to Kaizer Chiefs.
The two sides met in the first round of the season, with Pirates coming out 2-0 winners in Durban courtesy of a brace by Monnapule Saleng, with both goals assisted by Kermit Erasmus.
