Kaizer Chiefs have received some encouraging news regarding the fitness of attacker Keagan Dolly, as they prepare for their upcoming clash against Mamelodi Sundowns. The 29-year-old was substituted in the second half of Chiefs’ match against Sekhukhune United on the club’s 53rd birthday celebration, and was left out of the squad completely for their loss against AmaZulu in Durban on Friday.
The club did not disclose the nature of Dolly’s injury as they suffered their joint-biggest defeat this season. Now, the Siya crew has been informed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns player suffered a grade-one concussion following his clash with referee Siyabulela Qunta.
Following a short precautionary layoff, Dolly has since resumed training and is now in a race to be fit for Chiefs’ clash against one of his former sides. With his return to training, it is hoped that the player will be able to make a full recovery in time for the match against Sundowns.
