The upcoming match between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns this Saturday evening at the FNB Stadium is set to be a highly anticipated affair. Despite Chiefs coming off a disappointing 4-0 defeat against AmaZulu in their previous match, club legend Lucky Stylianou believes that Amakhosi could surprise many at home.
“Look, without insulting Sundowns, this is probably the second biggest game in the country. The Chiefs v Pirates derby will always be number one. But this is still a massive game, and obviously, Sundowns will start as favourites based on their current form. But there’s one thing I’d really like to say, when it comes to big games, there are no real favourites,” said Stylianou, speaking to the Siya crew.
Our next encounter sees us travel to Soweto to battle for three points against Amakhosi!

Stylianou believes that Chiefs have to lift their game in order to stand a chance against Sundowns. He also pointed out that most goals in football are scored due to defensive midfield errors, and that’s what happened to Chiefs against AmaZulu. He urged the players to eliminate those errors.
“As a coach, my advice to the players would be to say they must eliminate the errors. I give Chiefs a chance because they’ve got a little bit of pace and speed always exposes players. Players hate speed,” the legend said.
The match between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns is set to be an exciting affair, with both teams hoping for a win. With Chiefs looking to bounce back from their last defeat and Sundowns hoping to continue their impressive form, it is sure to be an exciting match.
