Kaizer Chiefs have announced that they are sending one of their young stars, Mthokozisi ‘Keita’ Balakazi, on loan for the remainder of the season. Balakazi has been making notable progress in the DStv Diski Challenge with Amakhosi in recent months and the club have decided to loan him out to the PSL in order to fast-track his development.
The 19-year-old striker is set to join Uthongathi FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, according to information received by the Siya crew. An insider confirmed to the Siya crew, “Keita Balakazi is on his way to Uthongathi FC in KwaZulu-Natal to spend the rest of the season on loan from Kaizer Chiefs. He is from Chiefs’ DDC team. He came through the ranks at the club in the same way that other youngsters like Lebohang Lesako did.”
Balakazi is the latest in a long line of youngsters to come through the development structures at the Soweto giants, with the club looking to continue to nurture their young talent and give them the opportunity to progress and reach their full potential.
