SuperSport United are reportedly determined to hold onto one of their most valuable players, Bradley Grobler, beyond the expiration of his contract in June. Grobler, currently on top of the goalscoring charts with seven goals in the DStv Premiership, is seen by head coach Gavin Hunt as someone who can deliver on the pitch and guide some of the younger players coming through at the club.
The Siya crew has been led to believe that SuperSport are seriously looking at tying him down to a new deal, as he forms a big part of Hunt’s plans. At 34, Grobley may be heading towards the end of his career, but the club believes that he still has a lot to offer, as seen in his performances this season which have put them in a good position to finish in one of the CAF spots.
The Siya crew tried to get hold of SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews for a comment on the potential Grobler contract extension, but he was unavailable. SuperSport, meanwhile, will be back in action this weekend when they take on Swallows FC in the Premiership at Dobsonville Stadium.
