“I’m blessed and thankful for the opportunity and I just can’t wait to get started. From the moment I heard that there was interest from Burnley, my heart and my head were set on the club. I’m so happy to be here now. It’s a dream for me.” Foster began his professional career at Orlando Pirates in South Africa, making his debut for the side in 2018.
He went on to make a total of 29 appearances for the club, scoring six goals. He has also represented South Africa at international level, making his debut for Bafana Bafana in 2019.
Foster has since made four appearances for the national side, scoring one goal. Burnley manager Kompany was delighted to welcome Foster to the club. “Lyle is a young player with a lot of potential,” Kompany said.
“He is a natural goalscorer and has already shown that he can score at the highest level. We are delighted to have him at the club and we are looking forward to seeing him develop and grow as a player.”
