Mamelodi Sundowns will put their record-breaking 13-game winning streak on the line when they host Sekhukhune United in a DStv Premiership match at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday 28th January. Sundowns extended their record of consecutive victories to 13 matches after edging TS Galaxy 2-1 on Tuesday thanks to goals from Rushine De Reuck and Peter Shalulile.
Sundowns have a 19-point lead at the top of the table and could breach the 50-point mark with a win against Sekhukhune. The visitors have been on a great run of form under new coach Brandon Truter, having won four consecutive matches and collecting 13 points from a possible 15, moving them up to fifth place on the table and in contention for continental places.
Sekhukhune have already denied Sundowns a three-point haul this season, holding them to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture. However, the visitors will be without new signing Kamohelo Mokoto, as international clearance from the Major League Soccer is still pending.
