Akpeyi and Others Set to Return to Birds’ Nest as FIFA Ban is Lifted

Swallows FC have secured the services of their first official signing since the lifting of their FIFA ban, with Evans Rusike joining the Birds’ nest.

Coach Ernst Middendorp has expressed his satisfaction with the signing and is expecting more players to flock to the club before the transfer window slams shut on Wednesday 31 January.

Middendorp stated that the signing of Rusike was a huge achievement for the club and that he had been impressed by the young players he had seen in training sessions. He also revealed that the club were looking to sign up to four more players before the window closes.

The Birds are currently 15th on the DStv Premiership log, three points above the relegation zone, and Middendorp believes the new signings will help them move away from the danger zone.

Middendorp also revealed that the club are looking to sign Daniel Akpeyi, Ally Msengi and Daniel Gozar amongst others. He is confident that these signings will help bolster the squad and make Swallows a force to be reckoned with.
