Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has set his sights high for his team, calling on them to qualify for the CAF Champions League on a regular basis. The Glamour Boys finally ended their three-match losing streak over the weekend, beating Royal AM 2-0 with goals from Sifiso Hlanti and Ashley Du Preez.
The win moved Chiefs up to fifth on the table, four points behind second-placed Richards Bay, and Zwane believes they have the quality to challenge for a place in Africa’s premier club competition. He told the media in a press conference: “To be quite honest, we’ll always want to put ourselves under pressure. We’ll always want to compete at the highest level. We’ll always want to be among the best.”

He added: “And yes, in terms of results we’ve been fluctuating, you know, and it’s understandable because of the injuries like I said but we’ll try to push hard, to push all the way. We’ll treat every game as they come, one game at a time but every game that we play we play to win. So if we get that opportunity of going to the CAF Champions League that’s actually where we want to go, test ourselves and play CAF Champions League every season actually.”
Chiefs will have the chance to move closer to their goal when they travel to TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon.
