Orlando Pirates will be hoping to end Mamelodi Sundowns’ impressive winning run when the two sides clash in the DStv Premiership this afternoon at the Orlando Stadium. The Brazilians have extended their record of consecutive victories to 14 matches after beating Sekhukhune United 2-0 last weekend, with Peter Shalulile and Cassius Mailula getting the goals.

The Tshwane side will be without Marcelo Allende due to suspension after he was sent off in the win over Sekhukhune. However, they still sit comfortably at the top of the standings with a 21-point lead and are 21 points clear of second-place Richards Bay, who lost to Swallows on Friday night.
The Buccaneers, on the other hand, are building up momentum in their bid to qualify for the CAF Champions League, as they won three games in a row for the first time this season after beating Marumo Gallants 2-0 last weekend. They have also bolstered their squad with the signing of midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula from AmaZulu this week.
Jose Riveiro’s charges will be looking to redeem themselves after losing 2-0 to Sundowns when the season resumed on 30 December last year.
Both teams have named their starting line-ups for the match, and they will be looking to put in a good performance in order to secure the three points.
