Chiefs Loanee Propels Casric Stars to the Top with Debut Goal

Casric Stars moved to the top of the standings after a narrow 2-1 victory over Baroka on Sunday afternoon at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium. Kgomotso Mosadi opened the scoring for Stars early on, but his effort was cancelled out by Baroka just before the break. New signing Keletso Sifama, on loan from Kaizer Chiefs, snatched the winner for Casric with 15 minutes to go.

Pretoria Callies extended their unbeaten run to three matches after holding All Stars to a goalless draw on Sunday afternoon at Giant Stadium. Callies moved out of the relegation zone by goal difference in 14th spot on the table while All Stars remained in sixth.

Hungry Lions leapfrogged JDR Stars in the battle for promotion places with a 2-1 win on Saturday afternoon at Windhoek Draught Park. Bongani Cele gave Stars the lead on the half-hour mark, but Pitso Tlotlego levelled matters for Lions seven minutes before the interval. Boikanyo Maritshe scored what proved to be the winner for the Northern Cape outfit seven minutes after the half-time break.

University of Pretoria got back to winning ways after edging Uthongathi 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at ABSA Tuks Stadium. Ayanda Mvambi broke the resistance for AmaTuks ten minutes before the interval and Xolani Sithole levelled matters for Uthongathi on 68 minutes. Vuyolwethu Dinge then snatched the winner for the Tshwane side in the last quarter of an hour.

Polokwane City lost their spot at the top of the table after playing to a goalless draw against Cape Town Spurs on Saturday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Rise and Shine dropped down two points behind in second place on the table while Spurs remained in third place.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila lost their sixth game in a row after going down 2-1 against Platinum City Rovers on Saturday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium. TTM slipped down to second-from-bottom while City Rovers climbed up to 11th on the log.

Magesi ended their three-game losing run after a last-gasp 1-0 win over Venda Football Academy in the Limpopo derby on Friday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium. Debutant Manuel Kambala came off the bench and snatched the winner for Magesi in stoppage time.

NB La Masia won for the first time in six matches after beating Black Leopards 2-0 on Friday afternoon at Wits Football Stadium. La Masia broke the deadlock on 24 minutes from the penalty spot and got a two-goal cushion midway through the second stanza. Lidoda Duvha remained rooted at the bottom of the standings, four points from safety while La Masia climbed up to 12th.
