On Tuesday evening, Marumo Gallants secured their spot in the next round of the Nedbank Cup after a 3-1 victory over Magesi FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Gallants interim coach Raymond Mdaka handed a first start to January signing Judas Moseamedi in the attack, while Boitumelo Pheko, Matome Kgoetyane, and Monde Mphambaniso were also re-called to the starting line-up.
Magesi, who reached the final last season, had a couple experienced campaigners in their line-up, which included former Baroka FC duo Elvis Chipezeze and Manuel Kambala.

Gallants found the breakthrough on 27 minutes when Letsie Koapeng bagged his second goal of the season after converting a penalty. Moseamedi marked his first start with his first goal of the club before the stroke of halftime, as Tebogo Thangwane opened his account for the season to give the hosts a commanding lead.
Kagiso Selemela pulled a goal back for Magesi just before the hour mark, but it was not enough to stop Gallants from sealing their spot in the round of 16. Gallants will now switch focus to the CAF Confederation Cup group stages this weekend.
