On Wednesday evening, Sekhukhune United and SAB League side Liver Brothers faced off in the Nedbank Cup last 32 at Peter Mokaba Stadium. Sekhukhune were on a good run of four consecutive victories in the league before they lost 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns and they have since lost back-to-back matches. Babina Noko will be hoping to improve and avoid another upset after they were dumped out in the first round of this tournament last season by Motsepe Foundation Championship side Platinum City Rovers on penalties.

Liver Brothers, on the other hand, are inexperienced at this level, as they are the only fourth-tier side that has reached the last 32. Liver Bros only got promoted to the SAB League in the Mpumalanga region last season and have made great strides since then making it into this stage and the players will be eager to impress scouts from the professional ranks.
The match ended in a 0-0 draw, with neither side able to find the breakthrough. The match went to penalties and Sekhukhune United emerged victorious, winning 5-3. Sekhukhune United will now face Glad Africa Championship side Maccabi FC in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup.
