On Sunday afternoon, Marumo Gallants began their maiden CAF Confederation Cup group stage campaign with a 4-1 victory over Al-Akhdar.
The Limpopo side got off to a perfect start as Lesiba Nku opened the scoring four minutes in. Katlego Oltadisa then provided the assist for Ranga Chivaviro to double the lead in the 21st minute.
Chivaviro then added his second of the match ten minutes into the second half. The visitors did manage to pull a goal back with ten minutes on the clock, with Akram Alzawi firing past Arubi to set up a nervy finish. However, Joseph Molangoane wrapped up the win in the 85th minute with his first goal of the competition as Gallants start the group phase with a win.
