Mamelodi Sundowns have established themselves as one of the most successful teams in African football in recent years, and their technical team is a testament to that.
The 24-man strong team is made up of experienced coaches and specialists who work together to ensure the players are in peak condition for every match.
Head coach Rulani Mokwena is the man in charge, with Steve Komphela and Manqoba Mngqithi taking on the roles of first team coach and senior coach respectively. Meanwhile, Sibusiso Mahlangu is in charge of conditioning, with Wendell Robinson and Marcus Mashilo taking care of the goalkeeping department.
The player care is also taken care of, with Sakhumzi Ngwevela, Carl Tabane, Paul Mphoto and Godfrey Sepuru all on hand to ensure the team is in good health. Mkhonzeni Basi and Thabiso Moshane are the team masseurs, while Freddy Zungu and Lesiba Litho are the kit managers.
Thato Masego is the kit assistant. The performance analysis is also taken care of, with Dayle Solomon, Sibusiso Makitla, Goolam Valodia and Mario Masha all on board. Stuart McGregor and Thato Santos provide the team with biokineticists, while Kagiso Marumo is the team liaison officer and Sekapa Buthane is the player’s caretaker.
Michael Loftman is the set piece coach. With such a comprehensive technical team in place, it is no wonder that Mamelodi Sundowns have been so successful in recent years both locally and on the continent.
