Mamelodi Sundowns forward Cassius Mailula is in the form of his life, having scored 12 goals in all competitions for the Brazilians.
After netting yet another brace against Coton Sport in the CAF Champions League group stages, Mailula has spoken on his fine form.
“Very well played game, I think the guys came through today. And I also want to say thank you to the coaches for the opportunity they have given me and supporting me. I’m actually very happy that I scored today because usually I don’t convert the chances that I get but I’m happy with the two goals, but overall, the team was very good with the ball, so from here we just need to focus on the next game,” he said via the CAF media department.
The forward admitted that he doesn’t always convert the chances he gets, but he is happy to be contributing goals for Mamelodi Sundowns.
He also revealed that he doesn’t set targets for himself, however, he hopes to never get tired of scoring goals.
“It’s not even about setting targets, it’s about scoring each and every game so that the team wins, so I’m really happy that I’m actually scoring goals for the team. The most important thing is to keep on scoring and never get tired of scoring,” he continued.
Sundowns now face a stern test in the next round as they make their way to Egypt, to take on Al Ahly next Saturday.
