Former Kaizer Chiefs player Humphrey Mlwane has expressed his disappointment with Amakhosi following their 3-2 defeat against Golden Arrows on Sunday. The Soweto giants had thrown away a lead on two occasions, leaving the Peter Mokaba Stadium empty handed.
“That defeat was a little bit of an embarrassment. Those are the kind of results that can have an effect of knocking down the confidence of the coach. I thought the result from the previous match, the 2-0 win against Maritzburg United was a confidence booster, but going down like that in the following match was disappointing,” said Mlwane.
The former midfielder also noted that the most important thing for the team to do now is to dig deeper as a collective to get out of the current situation. With Kaizer Chiefs preparing to face Orlando Pirates this coming Saturday, Mlwane believes that the team must have their confidence on a high again.
“Going into a match with confidence gives the team a little bit of an advantage and at the moment Pirates look like a team that is high in confidence from their most recent results,” he said.
