South African international, Ayanda Patosi, has been linked with a possible return to the DStv Premiership, with the player spotted at a club’s home match on Sunday.
Patosi, who hails from Khayelitsha, has been playing abroad since the start of 2020, having joined Foolad FC in Iran from FC Baniyas in the United Arab Emirates. The 30-year-old recently parted ways with the Iranian side, leaving him unattached.
Speculation of a return to his former club Cape Town City has been swirling, with Patosi spotted in attendance at a Citizens’ home match on Sunday. After the match, the African Soccer Development graduate was seen in the company of the team’s players and staff, sparking rumours that he may be close to rejoining the club for a third spell.
According to sources, a deal is not being ruled out for Patosi to join Eric Tinkler’s side, with the player having spent some time training with the team on his return from overseas. “There is nothing official at the moment but, yes, the player is around. But anything is possible in football and let’s wait and see,” said the source.
