Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Sthembiso Ngcobo and an ex-Amakhosi teammate have reunited in the lower leagues as they pursue promotion with an ambitious club. Ngcobo and Dominic Isaacs played together at the Soweto giants between 2010 and 2012, and have since joined Mkhumbane Classic FC in KwaZulu-Natal’s ABC Motsepe League as coaches.
Ngcobo retired from professional football a few years ago, having played for Free State Stars, AmaZulu, Bidvest Wits and Amakhosi among others over the years. Isaacs has been involved as an aspiring coach in the lower divisions, having had spells with Hout Bay Community United, an amateur side based in the Western Cape, and then second tier outfit Cape Umoya.
Mkhumbane are competing for the title with the likes of Milford FC and Summerfield Dynamos who are at the top half of the log for a chance to qualify for the promotional play-offs at the end of the season. Isaacs is leading the side as the head coach with Ngcobo assisting him.
