On Saturday, legendary Dutch coach Johan Neeskens returned to Mamelodi Sundowns, eleven years after parting ways with the club.
Neeskens joined the Brazilians in 2011 following a spell in Turkey, where he worked as an assistant coach at Galatasaray, and left the club in 2012 without a trophy, although he did manage to reach two cup finals in that time.
Rulani Mokwena, Sundowns’ current head coach, took to social media to share the encounter between the two coaches, revealing that the Dutch legend provided him with “a free football lecture”.
Mokwena will be hoping to use all the information he received from Neeskens in Saturday’s encounter against Al Ahly, which if won, will all but ensure Sundowns a passage to the CAF Champions League quarterfinal.
The match is scheduled for kick off at 21:30pm.
