Sundowns Striker Eager to Compete for a Starting Spot at Chloorkop

As the season draws to a close, Mamelodi Sundowns striker Thabang Sibanyoni, currently on loan at rivals SuperSport United, is anxious to hear what the future holds for him at Chloorkop. After previously being loaned out to University of Pretoria and Sekhukhune United, Sibanyoni has scored one goal in 13 appearances for SuperSport this season.

Speaking to the Siya crew, Sibanyoni said, “I will ask what’s going to happen with me, if I am going to be loaned out again or if I am staying (at Chloorkop). But I would love to stay. It’s tough because you don’t know what’s happening. It’s better when you know what’s going to happen next season. That’s why it’s better to ask early about your future, so that you can prepare yourself. My agent will ask, so that I can focus on finishing the season with SuperSport.”

Competition for places at Sundowns is always fierce, and Sibanyoni is aware of this. However, he believes that it is better for him to return to Chloorkop and fight for a spot in the team. He said, “At this stage, I have been loaned out enough. It’s better for me to go there and fight for my place and compete with the guys. I can compete, because you never know what would happen. I also have to have that confidence that I can do what they are doing.”
