Pirates Consider Swallows Winger for Potential Transfer?

News reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates are believed to have expressed interest in a Swallows FC winger. According to a source close to the Birds nest, the Buccaneers are monitoring the situation of attacker Kagiso Malinga. This is reportedly not the first time that the Soweto giants have enquired about the services of the 28-year-old.

“Yes its true. Pirates have been monitoring Malinga for some time now and if all goes well, he may leave the team at the end of the season. You know his contract expires at the end of the season and if Swallows are not careful, he may leave for free,” the source revealed to the Siya crew.

The source further stated that Malinga is a very good player and has the potential to make it at a big team. They cited his successful partnership with fellow winger Monnapule Saleng last season, which helped Swallows avoid relegation in the play-offs.

When contacted for comment, Swallows chairman David Mogashoa was frank in his response. He explained that the Birds will not stop any player from moving to any one of the bigger clubs. Mogashoa further pointed out that the club does not have a sponsor, so the sale of Malinga could benefit Swallows.

The Siya crew has been informed that Malinga has an option in his contract, which will be activated by the end of May. The future of the player is yet to be determined, but it appears that Orlando Pirates are keeping a close eye on the winger.
