Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to extend their incredible 15-match unbeaten streak when they take on Stellenbosch FC in the DStv Premiership on Sunday afternoon. The Brazilians are 19 points clear at the top of the log and another win would edge them closer to the league title.
Sundowns had only a two days’ rest after defeating Marumo Gallants 3-1 on Thursday in the Nedbank Cup round of 16. Stellies, meanwhile, are on a good run of form as they have won four consecutive games in all competitions after edging Richards Bay 2-1 last weekend. Three consecutive victories in the league have lifted Steve Barker’s charges up to tenth on the table and another win will take them back into the top eight.
Sundowns will be looking to complete a league double over the Cape Winelands outfit after securing a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture. Here’s how they line up: Stellenbosch: 17. Stephens, 38. Makhanya, 21. Basadien, 7. Van Rooyen, 6. Mthethwa, 10. Mendieta, 5. Sibiya, 27. Jabaar, 23. Adams, 34. Titus, 9. Rayners
