Mike Makaab was full of praise for Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena, in light of the ongoing situation involving Andile Jali and Sipho Mbule. Both players were alleged to have transgressed against the club’s alcohol policy.
The veteran agent heaped praise on Sundowns’ young coach for the way he handled the situation, after their 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch on Sunday.

“I do want to comment on Rulani’s statement and say that I applaud him,” Makaab told Gagasi FM. “Because first and foremost he has to look after the football club, then he has to look after his players and then he talks about the human element of being a footballer or a football coach. That’s incredibly wise and mature for a young man, because he is a young football coach.”
Makaab went on to confirm that Jali has returned to Matatiele in the Eastern Cape due to being unsettled and hoping for a natural resolution to his future.
“He has also been at home and that’s no secret but again I think one needs to look at the human element of this whole thing and understand that we have a player who’s not settled, and we must accept that and it’s nobody’s fault. It’s not his fault, it’s not the football club’s fault, these things happen. We’ve done our best to try and find a solution and so have Mamelodi Sundowns and at times, these things take time to unfold, and I prefer for them to unfold naturally than to be forced. Anything that is done under pressure, I don’t believe those arrangements ever work out,” he concluded.
