The eagerly-anticipated MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns is set to kick-off at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Monday evening.
Both teams are determined to lift the trophy, with Pirates looking to defend their title, while Sundowns are hoping to end their trophy drought. Pirates have struggled for form in recent weeks, but have usually come to the party in knockout competitions since the arrival of Jose Riveiro last season.
The Spaniard is unlikely to make too many changes to his line-up, with Sipho Chaine expected to start in goal, while Bandile Shandu, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Tapelo Xoki and Paseka Mako could form the back four.
In midfield, Thabang Monare and Miguel Timm are likely to be the main men, with Relebohile Mofokeng, Monnapule Saleng and Patrick Maswanganyi providing the attacking flair. Upfront, Zakhele Lepasa is expected to lead the line, despite a dry spell in recent weeks.
Sundowns, meanwhile, are expected to have Ronwen Williams in goal, with Khuliso Mudau, Grant Kekana, Rivaldo Coetzee, Mothobi Mvala and Abdelmounaim Boutouil likely to form the back five. Teboho Mokoena and Marcelo Allende are expected to be the main men in the middle of the park, with expected support from Aubrey Modiba, while Lucas Ribeiro Costa has to go through a late fitness test.
Upfront, Sundowns look set to have Peter Shalulile leading the line, with Themba Zwane supporting him. The two teams are set to battle it out for the MTN8 trophy, with both teams hoping to end the night with the silverware.
It promises to be an exciting clash between two of South Africa’s biggest teams and the action is set to kick-off at 19:00.
