Percy Tau continued his impressive start to the season in the Egyptian Premier League, scoring two goals in Al Ahly’s 3-1 win over Ismaily on Sunday. The brace was Tau’s fourth goal in two matches played this season, putting him at the top of the goal scoring charts in Egypt.
The South African attacker revealed that he is sometimes used as a substitute to prevent injuries and lengthen his season, a ploy which appears to be paying off for Al Ahly. Having managed just 10 goals last season, Tau is already closing in on that record, with just seven matches played in all competitions so far.
The form comes at an ideal time for Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos who selected Tau as part of his 23-man squad for international friendlies coming up against Ivory Coast and Eswatini later this week.
