This past weekend, Knox Mutizwa scored a brace against Kaizer Chiefs,
catapulting him up the rankings of players who have scored the most
against Amakhosi. However, he still has a way to go to catch up to the
current leader.
Some players relish the opportunity of coming up against one of the
biggest clubs in the country, and there is no bigger occasion than facing
the Glamour Boys. Despite their lack of trophies in recent seasons, they
still manage to draw large crowds, particularly when they play away from
home.
Chiefs have had a few thorns in their side in terms of players who
frequently score against them, with Bradley Grobler currently leading the
way. The ‘Sniper’ has found the back of the net on 10 occasions against
Chiefs and has registered three assists in 22 matches.
Mamelodi Sundowns’ Peter Shalulile is slightly behind Grobler with nine
goals and three assists from 13 appearances against Amakhosi. Kermit
Erasmus follows close behind with seven goals and three assists, while
Mutizwa’s recent brace took his tally against Chiefs to six goals from 14
appearances. Rounding out the top five is AmaZulu and Bafana Bafana
forward Victor Letsoalo, who has managed six goals in 12 appearances
against Chiefs.
