Sekhukhune Overwhelm Minnows with Six Goals in Nedbank Cup

On Wednesday night, Sekhukhune United cruised to the Nedbank Cup last 16
with a 6-0 thrashing of Liver Brothers at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Babina Noko made only four changes to the side that lost against Marumo
Gallants, as Victor Letsoalo, Philani Zulu, Roderick Kabwe and Sammy Seabi
were all recalled.

Kabwe gave Sekhukhune the lead on 13 minutes with a left-footed shot in
the box as early pressure paid off. Daniel Cardoso doubled their lead ten
minutes before the interval with a header from a cross by Letsoalo.

The visitors continued to put Liver Bros under pressure in a high
intensity game but could not get clear opportunities as they took a
comfortable 2-0 lead to the halftime break.

The game took a decisive turn early in the second stanza after Liver Bros
were reduced to ten men following the red-card of Tonny Khosa, who also
conceded a penalty, which Chibuike Ohizu converted to extend the lead.

Sekhukhune strengthened the team with experienced fresh legs after the
hour-mark, as Linda Mntambo, Tashreeq Morris and Kamohelo Mokotjo entered
the park. Mncube made it 4-0 with a strike in the box after he was setup
by Morris.

Mncube quickly made it 5-0 for Sekhukhune five minutes later and grabbed
his brace from a similar situation after he was teed up by Tshepo Mokhabi.
Morris rounded off the thrashing in stoppage time with a high shot in the
box after combining with Mntambo and the Limpopo side comfortably booked
their spot in the last 16.
