Scott Chickelday, an English coach who made a notable contribution to
Orlando Pirates in a short period of time, has confirmed his next
destination following his departure from the Soweto giants. From January
05 to February 05, Chickelday worked as the Bucs’ striker coach under the
club’s technical team.
During his time at Pirates, the team scored 11 goals from five games he
was involved in, leading to many of the club’s supporters expressing their
disappointment on social media following his exit.
Chickelday’s last game for the Buccaneers was the 1-0 loss against
defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns last Saturday.
Now back in the UK, Chickelday has taken to his LinkedIn page to express
his gratitude to Pirates and the club’s head coach Jose Riveiro. “Back in
the UK after spending the month with Orlando Pirates working with their
strikers! Was an absolute pleasure to work alongside head coach Jose
Riveiro at this fantastic club! Players worked incredibly hard and really
took my advice on board! Great country and met some fantastic people,” he
wrote.
