On Saturday, Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch made a triumphant
return to the pitch, scoring one of the goals in Bucs’ 2-0 victory in the
Nedbank Cup. The former PSL’s Footballer of the Season had been absent for
some time, and his return was met with great excitement.
James Mothibi, former striker and now pundit, praised Lorch for his
quality. “Thembinkosi Lorch is a very important player for Orlando Pirates
and he came back at a very good time when the club needed him the most.
It’s only that the injury has delayed him and injuries are an enemy of
Orlando Pirates. I’m happy that he is back and I wish him everything of
the best in the remaining games of the season,” said Mothibi.
Mothibi is optimistic about the team’s chances in the competition, and is
encouraging the players to respect the club, its supporters, management,
coaches, and the legends who have contributed to the team’s success. “Good
luck to everyone, and all the players who have been signed for Orlando
Pirates must know that there is only one Orlando Pirates and there is no
other. So, they need to respect the club, the supporters, management and
coaches, as well as themselves and their families. They should also
respect the legends that have sweat and died for the team,” he said.
