With his contract with Kaizer Chiefs set to expire in June this year,
midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange is set to become a free agent. According to
reports, SuperSport United and Nange’s former team Stellenbosch FC have
both expressed an interest in the 31-year-old’s services.
Sources suggest that Gavin Hunt, coach of SuperSport United, is a huge
admirer of Nange and would be keen to reunite with the midfielder.
Meanwhile, Stellies coach Steve Barker is also believed to be keen on the
player’s return to the Winelands, after he spent one season at the club.
“It’s a very tricky situation for the player as both coaches value him so
much,” a source told the Siya crew. “At the end of the day, it will all
depend on the offer and which team wants him more. But they are both
interested in him.”
Nange has not seen much playing time this season, as he has lost his place
to now departed Njabulo Blom and youngster Samkelo Zwane, who coach Arthur
Zwane prefers.
