“But I would say, my first day as a coach in the Premier Soccer League
with SuperSport United was the best experience.” Pitso Mosimane, one of
South Africa’s most successful coaches, recently revealed his most
memorable moment as a coach.
With 11 trophies won in eight years at Mamelodi Sundowns, two CAF
Champions League titles, two Super Cups and the Egyptian Cup in two years
with Al Ahly, as well as a stint coaching Bafana Bafana, Mosimane is no
stranger to success.
Currently, Mosimane is in Saudi Arabia with Al Ahli Jeddah, looking to
gain promotion with the giants.
When asked about his best coaching experience, Mosimane pointed to his
time with SuperSport United, where he served as head coach from 2001 to
2007.
“My best coaching experience? They vary, man. They come in different
ways. Sometimes you say it’s this, and then next year something bigger
comes,” said Mosimane via his official TikTok account.
“I would say my best coaching experience is my first day as a coach in
the Premier [Soccer] League with SuperSport United. Then you move onto the
best experience as Bafana Bafana coach, moves on to Sundowns, it’s a big
team and Al Ahly Masry and now this one [Al Ahli Jeddah]. But I would say,
my first day as a coach in the Premier Soccer League with SuperSport
United was the best experience.”
