Rulani Draws Parallels: Downs’ Success Elicits Comparison to Man City Following Nedbank Cup Victory

Marumo Gallants coach Raymond Mdaka has admitted that they had to rest a
few players for their Nedbank Cup match against Mamelodi Sundowns due to
their involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Limpopo outfit lost 3-1 to the defending champions on Thursday night.
Mdaka praised his team for their performance despite the result, noting
that the players had not played for some time.

He pointed out that the Sundowns team had exploited the Gallants’
left-back who was not the usual player due to the rest of the players.

“But credit to the boys, at some stage you couldn’t see that these are
the players who have not played for some time. I think it was a good
performance from our boys, it’s just that the result went the other way
from the little mistakes we did in the first-half,” he said.
