Ntseki ‘Pleased’ With Squad: When Chiefs Can Secure New Signings

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has thrown cold water on
suggestions that the Amakhosi are looking to reinforce their squad, noting
that they must first conduct a squad audit before they can decide which
areas need strengthening. Ntseki spoke ahead of Kaizer Chiefs’ Carling
Knockout encounter against AmaZulu FC which will take place at FNB Stadium
on Saturday evening.

“We first have to do our squad audit. For now we can’t be talking about
what will happen in the future. For now we are happy with what we have,”
Ntseki told the media.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor is content with the squad he has built so
far, but will keep looking at which areas need strengthening as the season
progresses.

“The most important thing now is to refocus and look forward to the
positives. It’s a bit of a challenge but we have the players who are ready
to work for the team and bring the results,” Ntseki added.

Ntseki also noted that the FIFA break came at a time when they would have
wanted to continue playing after losing 1-0 to Cape Town City recently.

“Yeah, we can’t change the fixtures. We cannot change the schedule. We
can’t change the league. We have to deal with it like that,” said Ntseki.
“And I think after losing to Cape Town City we were all disappointed
because that’s one game we all wanted to win. That’s in the past. What is
important is focusing on the Carling Knockout and the next fixture against
Golden Arrows towards the end of the month.

“You know we had five players with different national teams and now we
have to check how they are when they come back and see how we can work
with them in the next game. But we are looking forward to positives as
always,” Ntseki concluded.

Despite Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr’s suggestion that Kaizer
Chiefs are not done in the transfer market yet, head coach Molefi Ntseki
has declared that they must first conduct a squad audit to determine which
areas need reinforcement. Ntseki is content with the squad he has built so
far, but will keep looking at which areas need strengthening as the season
progresses.
