Malesela’s Baroka Run Riot, Klate Makes Winning Start!

The South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) saw some exciting action
this weekend as Mamelodi Sundowns climbed to the top of the table after
hammering Polokwane City 5-2 on Saturday morning at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Kaizer Chiefs dropped points for the second consecutive game after playing
to a 1-1 draw against Moroka Swallows on Saturday afternoon at Dobsonville
Stadium. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates could not get two wins on the bounce
after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sekhukhune United on Saturday
morning at Rand Stadium.

Cape Town City won their third game on the bounce after drubbing
SuperSport United 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at Malta Park Sports Complex.
The Citizens raced to a three-goal lead in the first 30 minutes and were
already running rampant as they made it 4-0 nine minutes into the second
stanza. Thabang Makubo and Siviwe Magidigidi pulled two goals back for
United late in the game but they eventually lost by three goals after City
made it 5-2 in stoppage time.

Stellenbosch secured their third consecutive victory after edging Richards
Bay 2-1 on Saturday morning at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. Ntlonelo Bomelo
opened the scoring for the Natal Rich Boyz on 17 minutes but Stellies
equalised 21 minutes before time. The visitors eventually snatched the
winner with six minutes remaining.

Other results from the weekend included Cape Town Spurs 1-0 Golden Arrows,
Chippa United 2-0 Royal AM and AmaZulu 2-1 TS Galaxy.

Mamelodi Sundowns now sit atop the PSL table with 39 points, three points
ahead of Orlando Pirates in second place and Kaizer Chiefs in third. Cape
Town City’s win has seen them climb up to fourth place on the table with
31 points.
