JDR Stars went up to third on the table after edging Marumo Gallants 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Giant Stadium. Orlando Pirates loanee Azola Tshobeni gave JDR an early lead within four minutes and Bahlabane Ba Ntwa equalised on 25 minutes. Thokozani Lukhele snatched the winner for the Hammerboys with 17 minutes remaining, taking them to within four points of leaders Orbit College in third spot on the log while Gallants dropped down to eighth.
Black Leopards finally won their first game of the campaign after a narrow 1-0 victory over Upington City on Saturday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium. Lidoda Duvha moved out of the relegation zone, up to 13th on the log with four points, just behind Upington, who dropped down 12th with the same number of points.
Hungry Lions bagged their second win of the season after edging Platinum City Rovers 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Windhoek Draught Park. After a goalless first stanza, Muzomuhle Khanyi broke the deadlock for Lions with 16 minutes remaining and that proved to be the winner. Ditau Dia Rora jumped up to sixth on the table with eight points while City Rovers fell down to 15th spot with only two points so far.
Maritzburg United lost their first game of the season after going down 2-1 to Magesi on Friday evening at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. Tshepo Matsimela broke the deadlock for Dikwena nine minutes before the half-time break and Maritzburg levelled matters eight minutes into the second stanza. However, Hlogi Mokone found the winner for Magesi in the last minute, taking them up to second on the table with 13 points, equal on points with leaders Orbit College while the Team of Choice dropped down to fourth.
Baroka remained winless since the start of the season after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Casric Stars on Friday afternoon at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium. After a goalless first stanza, Decide Chauke eventually got the breakthrough for Casric early in the second stanza. Bakgaga found the equaliser in the last minute, moving Baroka slightly up to 14th on the table with only three points while Casric moved up to fifth.
NB La Masia won their second game of the season after edging Venda Football Academy 1-0 on Friday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium. Gaga opened the scoring for La Masia early in the second-half and that was enough to hand them the maximum points. La Masia climbed up to seventh on the log with eight points while Venda dropped down to 11th with five points.
Orbit College dropped points for the first time after playing to a goalless draw against University of Pretoria on Friday afternoon at Giant Stadium. Orbit had won all their four games prior to the draw against AmaTuks but they managed to hold on to top spot on the table by virtue of a slightly better goal ratio over second-placed Magesi, as both sides are tied on 13 points. AmaTuks, meanwhile, settled for ninth spot on the table with six points.
Pretoria Callies remained unbeaten after playing to a scoreless draw against Milford on Friday afternoon at TUT Stadium. Callies, however, drew their fifth game in succession and find themselves in tenth spot on the log while Milford remained rooted at the bottom of the table with only a single point.
