News reaching the Siya crew is that there is believed to be more to the loan deal of Orlando Pirates midfielder Ntsako Makhubela to Golden Arrows. Makhubela joined Arrows on loan after not featuring under new coach Jose Riveiro, and sources have indicated that the loan is believed to sweeten the deal in acquiring the services of Pule Mmodi.
The source added that though it seems like a loan at the moment, things will change come June or July. “Pule’s (Mmodi) contract ends at the end of the season. And I can tell you that he has not signed a new deal with Arrows. What do you think? What’s going on? Yeah. That’s why Ntsako went to Arrows. To pave way for Mmodi to move to Pirates. It’s more complicated than it looks because there were other teams interested in the player. But as far as I know, the Pirates one that involves Ntsako is as good as done,” the source said.
Mmodi has been linked with Pirates and Chiefs since last year and looks set to be one of the names to headline the July/August transfer window.
Speculation is rife that Makhubela’s loan move to Arrows is part of a larger deal that would see Mmodi join Pirates. It remains to be seen if the deal will come to fruition and if it does, it could be a major coup for the Buccaneers.
