Casric Stars coach Joseph ‘Bucs’ Mthombeni is a self-confessed die-hard Kaizer Chiefs supporter, and on Sunday he will be hoping to extend his beloved team’s eight-year trophy drought when they face off in the Nedbank Cup.
Mthombeni, who spent years following Amakhosi and making regular trips from Mpumalanga to Johannesburg, admitted his love and adoration for Chiefs, which led to raucous celebrations from his players when they found out they were facing the Glamour Boys in the last 16.
Speaking to the media earlier this week, Mthombeni said: “To be quite honest, I’m a die-hard Kaizer Chiefs fan, that’s why these boys were waiting for this. After the draw, everyone was asking me questions, ‘which color you going to where?’ I said no, why are you asking me because I’m a Casric Stars coach and then they also wanted to see my behaviour.
