Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has revealed why he selected Kaizer
Chiefs midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane to replace Percy Tau in the squad for
friendly matches against Ivory Coast and Eswatini.
With Tau withdrawing from the Bafana Bafana squad owing to ‘personal
reasons’, Broos had to act fast to find a suitable replacement for the
‘Lion of Judah’. The Belgian coach didn’t have to look far however, as he
selected Mdantsane, who joined Chiefs from Cape Town City at the start of
the season.
Addressing the media ahead of Bafana’s training session on Monday, Broos
revealed the thinking behind Mdantsane’s inclusion. “He’s one who was on
our list,” he told journalists.
