FIFA Ban Impact on Nyauza’s Immediate Future: What’s in Store?

Royal AM are reportedly looking to bring in former Orlando Pirates
defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza when their current FIFA ban is lifted. The club
is currently serving a ban due to an unresolved contract dispute with
former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic.

A Siya source has revealed that the technical team are keen to bring in
Nyauza to fill the gaps left by the departures of Happy Jele, Ricardo
Nascimento and Mbhazima Rikhotso. The source added that they had planned
to sign Nyauza before the ban was imposed, but are now waiting until they
are legally allowed to do so.

“They could have already signed him by now but because of the FIFA ban
there is nothing they can do about it,” the source said. “You know they
have parted ways with three defenders in Happy Jele, Nascimento and
Rikhotso. That has made their defence weak and that’s why they are looking
at bringing in Ntsikelelo (Nyauza) when the ban is lifted. They are
planning ahead so that they are not desperate when that time comes. Their
technical team has identified Nyauza as the right defender to fill up the
gaps left by the other defenders who have left. It’s the technical team
that feels he has the experience that they need in defence. So, they will
wait until that time if it allows them.”

Nyauza, 33, has been without a team since leaving Richards Bay at the end
of last season when his contract was not renewed. With plenty of
experience, the former Pirates defender could prove to be a valuable asset
for Royal AM once the FIFA ban is lifted.

PSLSA contacted Royal AM for comment but no response was received while
this story was prepared.
