As the Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs looms this
weekend, former Pirates striker James Mothibi has made a bold prediction.
He believes that Monnapule Saleng, the 24-year-old winger who has been in
scintillating form for Amabhakaniya, will create magic with his eye for
goal and pass to add to his nine strikes and four assists in all
competitions so far this season.
Mothibi, who hails from Warrenton, is giving Saleng 100% support and
believes that he will not only perform, but even score or assist on
Saturday. He said, “The boy is still young and let’s not put too much
pressure on him but he will perform tomorrow. That’s definitely a surety,
he will perform tomorrow.”
Mothibi also believes that the game will be tough and tactical, with both
sides attacking continuously. He said, “To Pirates’ players, and all of
them, I would like to wish him good luck as they are carrying the hopes
the club’s supports, those who are alive and those who have since passed
on.”
The match is set to take place at FNB Stadium on Saturday, and the outcome
will be eagerly anticipated by both sets of supporters.
