Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be in the process of offering a new
contract to one of their youth development midfielders, Nkosingiphile
Ngcobo. With one year remaining on his current contract, the club is keen
to secure his long-term future.
An insider has revealed to PSLSA that Chiefs value Ngcobo and are
looking to tie him down to a three-year deal before his current contract
runs out. The source said, “He is in the coach’s plans. They want him to
stay and that’s why the team wants him to sign a new contract before he
becomes a free agent. They cannot afford to lose such a talented youngster
just like that, hence the new contract on the table.”

Ngcobo was promoted from the team’s development side in 2019 and has
since become a regular in Arthur Zwane’s line-up. The Maritzburg-born
midfielder has been a key figure in the team’s recent run of form and
Zwane has made no secret of his admiration for the 22-year-old.
The source added, “The talks can start any time but you know the main
focus is on the League and the Nedbank Cup. But the management know what
they are doing and I think before the season ends all will be done.”
It appears that Ngcobo is set for a new deal at Amakhosi as the club looks
to secure his long-term future at Naturena.
