Who Are Betano?

Betano comes from the Bet Victor stable, who obviously have a great track record of producing very popular online sportsbooks. This particular product has a big global presence and is the official sponsor of Euro 2024 and Copa America 2024.

  • Established in 2024 (in the UK)
  • BV Gaming Ltd
  • UKGC licence number – 39576

First Impression of Betano

This review will reflect the service offered at the time of writing. I signed up on the desktop version of Betano, but also used the mobile version to compare, but there is no app to download.

This may sound obvious, but if you have used BetVictor, or other associated brands such as talkSPORT BET or Parimatch, you’ll immediately feel at home on this platform. The only real difference from the off is the change in colours and branding (navy and red for Betano), but the design and layout of the product is pretty much identical.

For those not as familiar, you’ll find upcoming racing and football fixtures among various price boosts, with a clear, easy-to-follow menu down the left-hand side.

Betano Live Betting

Live in-play betting is available on Betano, with live graphics keeping you up to date with the action as it happens. You’ll know immediately which markets are in-play thanks to the small green “LIVE” icon that sits alongside the markets. Once you head to the In-Play section, you’ll get a new menu bar with all the current sports that have live markets that you can flick between. The stats are great and I really like the added extras, such as the flash of graphics when there is a break point in the in-play tennis markets, for example.

Betano Live Streaming

This is pretty impressive all round. In the In-Play section of the site, within the menu bar of sports, the first option is actually “Streams”, giving users an easy, clear section of markets that are available to stream then and there. During the time of review these were esports, basketball, ice hockey and table tennis. There is also an Upcoming Events button below to see what future events can be streamed. Users need to be logged in and have either a positive account balance or have placed a bet in the last 24 hours to watch.

Betano Betting Odds

The odds here are very good. I went through a few sports, including football, basketball, tennis and racing and overall it was pretty impressive, football in particular. Some of the racing odds weren’t great, but generally these can be counted among some of the better options for value.

Betano Betting App or Mobile Site

The mobile version is nearly identical to the desktop version of the site. One thing I really like is the main sports menu is an additional menu bar (I can’t see anything like this on desktop) of news-relevant tournaments. So right now there is the Super Bowl, the Six Nations, AFCON, the Premier League and a few others. There’s no separation of sports, just the most relevant right now, and I assume this updates automatically. It’s a great little feature.

Betano Football Betting

As mentioned, the odds here for football are very good. Betano doesn’t quite make our best football betting sites in the UK, but they’re not far off to be honest. There’s plenty of markets, with price boosts and enhanced accas peppering the page. One nice touch is that each game has small icons indicating the different product features/promotions available, usually made up of some combination of price boosts, bet builders and Betano’s Lucky Dips.

It’s worth noting, as mentioned in the intro, that Betano will sponsor the Euros and Copa America this year, so expect plenty of promotions for those tournaments later in the year.

Bet Builder

Betano has a bet builder function, and it’s fine, but could be improved if I’m being totally honest. I’d say it’s about mid-level, and would definitely be better if there were some more markets to add into individual bet builders. That said, these may increase the closer we get to kick-off for each game.

Bonuses

One promotion that Betano pushes a lot is its Lucky Dip. These are price boosts – quite large ones in fact – on loads of different events that are randomly selected. Punters choose the Lucky Dip market, enter their stake and then spin the wheel to receive their random selection.

Beyond that, and aside from the sign up offer, there isn’t anything bonus-wise beyond price boosts. That said, there are loads of price boosts on most sports.

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it’s crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. Betano have done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

Betano Horse Racing

Betano’s horse racing offering is fine, but the odds aren’t great and there’s no BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed), which is a bit of a let down. That said, there is one feature that I haven’t seen at other bookies apart from other BetVictor brands, and I’ve always quite liked. Lots of UK races have a “Lengthen The Odds” price boost. It’s a bar that you can slide across to increase the odds of the horse that you like, but lengthening the odds requires the horse to win by a certain amount of lengths so as you increase the potential payout you also increase the amount it has to win by. Product wise it’s presented brilliantly.

Betano US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. We’ll check out the major leagues, but also look into the sports further down the pyramid and, as well as across the globe.

American Football Betting

Betano presents its US sports really well. When you land on the american football page, for example, you can choose the competition, so in this case, the NFL. Once there, you’ll see the upcoming games, with the three main bets across the top: money line, handicap (the spread) and total points. Once you’ve selected games you get supporting statistics, bet builder options and some graphics.

Basketball Betting

It’s a sign of Betano’s great basketball event coverage from all over the world that when I arrive at their basketball section that their bet boosts on the Euroleague. There are plenty of NBA betting options (with trending bets displayed), as well as odds from the biggest matches in Europe, including Greece, Spain, Italy and Australia. Like American football, you’ll find the main markets – money line, total points and handicaps – on the main menu, before clicking through to the rest. You can also bet in-play, with odds available quarter by quarter.

Baseball Betting

Betano obviously covers the MLB, but they also have markets for the Japanese and South Korean leagues. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, look really good. The MLB season is well underway at the time of writing, and there is a healthy amount of things to bet on, such as individual awards and the like.

Ice Hockey Betting

You’ll obviously get a big NHL focus on Betano given the league’s status, but you’ll also find competitions in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Kazakhstan and more. Their betting markets include Puck Line, Money Line, Total Goals, Highest Scoring Period, Double Chance, Winning Margin, Win/Draw/Win Betting and a selection of 3-Way Handicaps. It’s great to see that bet boosts are still are thing for ice hockey, with Win and Puck Line trebles at longer odds. There are also esports ice hockey competitions to bet on.

Betano Greyhound Betting

Betano has a pretty standard greyhound section within its library. There’s the day’s meets, but also some ante post stuff. There isn’t a great deal beyond that, plus there is no live streaming or Best Odds Guaranteed, so not the best product overall. However, there are some races further afield than the UK, with Australian races also featuring.

Betano Darts Betting

In terms of darts betting sites in the UK, Betano has some ups and downs. The outrights on future events are great, but once you click through to the match ups, this then drops down quite a bit, and there is no bet builder option.. Maybe they increase the market number and variety closer to the time of the match, but I’d definitely like to see more earlier on. There are some Lucky Dip offers on each of the upcoming Premier League games though, as well as some head-to-head stats and league standings which is great to see.

Betano Snooker Betting

As with the best snooker betting sites, there are markets for a few different tournaments, including the World Championships and the Champions League. Regardless of the time of year, you will find outright markets on the game’s three biggest events – the World Championships, the UK Championships and The Masters – at all times on Betano. Other events feature throughout the snooker season, and it’s good to see Northern Ireland Open markets up. The odds are decent enough, but nothing special.

Betano Rugby Betting (Union & League)

This has most rugby competitions – domestic and international – that you’d want to bet on here, which is fantastic. And that goes for rugby union and rugby league. If I were being super picky it would be great to see the Japanese domestic league here, given how popular it is becoming, but that is me being hyper critical because overall, this is excellent event coverage compared to most other bookies. What lets it down, however, and seems at odds with other sports, is market depth per game isn’t great beyond handicaps.

Betano Cricket Betting

The event coverage is excellent, with domestic competitions in India, Australia and the UAE all there, as well as outrights for future World Cups and the Ashes, also. I also don’t think I’ve seen Italian or Irish domestic cricket anywhere, but it’s listed here.

with huge market depth, great odds and lots of promotions. Betano actually matches them events and odds-wise, so hopefully they can up their market depth and they’ll be in with a shout of being one of the best around.

Betano Tennis Betting

The tennis betting at Betano is very food. There are all the majors listed for next year, with outrights offered on all, and for upcoming matches there is a decent selection of ATP matches, as well as Challenger Series matches across the world. There’s also some enhanced accas offered at the time of review which is always nice to see. It appears that they do bet boosts on tennis games every day, well at least every different day that I was on their site.

Betano Golf Betting

It’s hard to fault the golf output here. There are ante post markets on all the majors, as well as the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup. There are also LIV Golf Events, the Myrtle Beach Classic, Wells Fargo Championship plus a few more. You will find golf odds on the likes of Top 5 and Top 10 Finish, Round Leaders and Dual Forecast right here, and even Hole In One markets.

Betano Motorsports Betting

With an okay variety of betting markets covering Supercars. Formula 1, motorcycling and speedway are also covered, but under different tabs. I’d like to see some Nascar, Formula E or smaller events covered also, but this is pretty solid even if there isn’t the biggest event coverage or market depth within said events. Definitely for the upcoming Grand Prix this weekend, there should be more markets to bet on.

Betano Boxing Betting

I like this. From the off, one simple feature, which hardly anyone does, is split the upcoming fights into PPV main events and standard upcoming bouts. It’s such a minor thing, but means you don’t have to scroll through every fight going to find the big match ups. Within each bout there is a good selection of markets, with round betting, method of victory, knockdowns and more.

Betano Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is still a large enough market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in a bit further.

Handball Betting

Betting on handball at Betano looks very impressive. There’s actually over 100 games to bet on at the time of review, and that’s way more than most bookies. There aren’t loads of markets per game, but the odds are great and there are competitions in Germany, Iceland, Poland and more listed. Handball is increasingly popular and Betano looks to be delivering in terms of providing a platform for punters to bet on various handball events and tournaments worldwide.

Cycling Betting

Betano offers betting on cycling for sports bettors who like to dabble in cycling betting, and comparing it with others out there it’s what we’d expect. There isn’t a load of markets, but that’s true of anywhere to be honest. What you can get is odds on next year’s Tour de France winner, plus the Classics like the Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix and Milan-San Remo.

Aussie Rules Football Betting

As far as Betano is concerned, their event coverage is pretty standard – they have most parts covered. The games, competitions and odds are good, but the actual list of markets isn’t huge per game. It’s not as great as some others out there, but overall they are still a solid option.

Political Betting

The political betting section is laid out nicely and easy to navigate. Split into US Politics and UK Politics, you can do a deeper dive into the UK once you’re in, beyond the US Presidential election and UK General Election. There are markets for the London Mayoral race, next party leaders and next Prime Minister, as well as Labour Party and Conservative Party specials.

Unfortunately there isn’t anything beyond the UK or US, and I’d like to see some more interesting markets, such as most seats, or by-election stuff, so overall Betano delivers an okay job, if a little unimaginative. You can compare them to other political betting options and see if you agree.

Entertainment and Specials Betting

This is a bit basic from Betano, with some music, award ceremonies and TV programmes covered. Really, beyond Sports Personality of the Year and Eurovision, that’s pretty much it. There isn’t even futures or outrights on the major awards ceremonies for film and TV.

Esports Betting

Despite Betano having a big presence when it comes to mainstream betting, they also have betting available for esports markets. Betting is available on games such as DOTA 2, Counter-Strike, League of Legends and FIFA as well as many others.

Esports betting is of course not as traditional as normal betting markets but it’s popularity is increasing as gaming grows in size year-by-year. All of the major matches and tournaments that are played in the games mentioned above are available to bet on on Betano as one of the best esports betting sites.

Virtual Sports

Virtual betting is growing in popularity seemingly year-by-year these days and it’s no surprise to see Betano offer a wide range of virtual sports on their platform.

With two types of horse racing, two types of football, both club and Euro plus two different basketball leagues there are always Virtual sports taking place.

Casino

Betano does have casino, which is incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top. They also have some bonuses and offers that lead to casino spins should you win sportsbook bets.

Betano Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Betano has their “Open Account” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

I’m surprised that there is no app, because other BetVictor brands have apps that work well and that I like. That said, I do like the user experience of Betano, and I think the same for their other sportsbooks that use the same interface. The menu and sub-menus work really well from a product point of view and there is very little in the way of having to hunt around for anything. Within different sports it’s incredibly easy to find the competitions or events that you want specifically. It’s clear that this is a platform that has been honed over time.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to Betano I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like Betano has got this part nailed.

Betano Responsible Gambling Features

As with all online betting companies, responsible gambling should be and will be an essential element of the service provided.

Expect KYC procedures and document supply as a matter-of-course, to confirm your account after you have deposited a certain level of funds and in the event of any large wins.

You can set limits for yourself across depositing options and daily staking options too, so you can set your levels and keep control of your gambling.

Expect Betano to contact you via your preferred communication method if there are suspicious activities on your account. This protects your account from being accessed by someone other than you and ensures you control your gambling activity. Betano have a legal obligation to question your activity if they believe it to be suspicious.

As part of Betano’s commitment to safer gambling, they aim to make zero revenue from harmful gambling by the end of 2023.

Betano Review Summary

Overall, Betano is an excellent betting option. I really like the use of little colourful icons to display what to expect with betting markets. The bet boost lightning bolt, and blue graph that signifies stats and data that accompany the market listing. I love the Lengthen The Odds feature, plus the supporting stats for in-play betting are generally good across a number of sports, rather than just being decent for football and tennis like some other bookies.

As mentioned, the partnering with BV has a very good move from the off, and although their odds aren’t as good as those on BetVictor, they make up for it with a raft of boosts, offers and promotions. This is a really great addition to the UK market, and I can see them being a major player very quickly.
