Who Are Fafabet?

Fafabet is owned by Taichi Tech, a UK-based company, arriving in 2021. Unlike a lot of their counterparts, Fafabet is the only Taichi Tech brand, with no sister sites. In the short time that they’ve been operating they have built a reputation for market depth and variety.

First Impression of Fafabet

This review will reflect the service offered at the time of writing. I signed up on the desktop version of Fafabet, but also used the mobile version to compare, as well as downloading the Fafabet app.

Fafabet feels very clean. Aside from the promotional carousel that runs along the top of the screen (more of that later), the rest of the site features a tonne of white space, clean lines, and a general design that is at-odds with most bookies who cram as much as possible in.

A quick glance down the side bar menu suggests that the variety in sports is exceptional – I’m not sure where else I’d find alpine skiing, futsal and water polo.

Fafabet Live Betting

The live betting at Fafabet is excellent. Head to their In-Play section and you’ll see all their live markets, as well as upcoming and featured markets. At the time of review there is some football, tennis, cricket and table tennis, but the upcoming markets show a far broader selection, with snooker, darts, esports, ice hockey and volleyball all on their way.

Fafabet Live Streaming

As it stands Fafabet offers live streaming on UK and Irish horse racing. Punters just need to login to their Fafabet account, bet at least £1 on the race, and start streaming. That’s the only sport with streaming offered.

Fafabet Betting Odds

After looking through some comparison sites – OddsChecker and a few others – as well as a deeper dive across alternative bookmakers, I can see that the odds offered at Fafabet are decent enough. We checked football, tennis and table tennis for in-play odds, plus horse racing and a few other sports for pre-match stuff. They’re very competitive, and a must for line shoppers out there. Crucially, because they have some sports that other bookies don’t, you’ll find odds for niche sports here that you won’t elsewhere.

Fafabet Betting App or Mobile Site

Fafabet’s app is fantastic. Often, you get a few different menu options on apps – on the top, with other parts down the side, an extra collapsable menu elsewhere. Fafabet keep it really simple and just have everything (apart from the login) at the bottom, freeing up the entirety of the screen for the betting product itself.

The promotional menu at the top is big, but it disappears as soon as you scroll down from it, and one extra nice touch is the way the section titles (“Live Now”, “Upcoming” etc.) freeze as you scroll so that you still know where you are when moving through quickly.

Fafabet Football Betting

Fafabet offer a very broad range of football markets, with odds that sit right up there with some of the best going. There’s obviously the major leagues and competitions, but punters can also find domestic leagues as broad and varied as Algeria, Peru, Northern Ireland and Syria. There are also plenty of promotions running that are football-specific.

Bet Builder

There’s an absolute load of markets within their bet builder feature – called Create-A-Bet on Fafabet. There’s a decent enough selection of markets within this, although I like to see a few more (there are no player fouls committed, or player tackles), but to be honest, these might be added closer to the time.

Bonuses

As well as the welcome offer there are a few different promotions to take advantage of. At the time fo writing the African Cup of Nations is on and there are a tonne of associated offers: daily free bets, an extra free bet if you 3+ leg acca wins, bore draw money back and money back if your Create-A-Bet fails by a single leg. These are all general football promotions, but it’s great to see them incorporated into current competitions.

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it’s crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. Fafabet have done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

Free Bet Club

While most free bet club and loyalty promotions like to focus around weekly offers, you can get a daily free bet with Fafabet. Here’s how it works. Place an in-play bet – on any sport – with odds that are at 3.0 or greater, and they will credit your account with a free bet up to £10. The great news is that accas are included in their promotion.

Fafabet Horse Racing

The horse racing section at Fafabet is very good. You can live stream selected races in the UK (50% of the races on the day I double checked), just look for the small  icon. There’s the usual selection of Winner, Each Way, Forecast and Tricast, all at impressive odds. There are extra places on selected races and you can use Fafabet’s acca bonus when making your selections. You can also get a casino bonus for betting on US racing.

There are some nice promotions, too. A free bet if your horses finishes second to the favourite, as well as if it’s beaten by a length. Fafabet also have BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed). This is on all UK racing (and greyhounds), with multiples included, and from 8:30am each day.

Fafabet US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. Of the major leagues in the US, there’s no MLB season currently, but it’s good to see some futures and outrights, regardless.

American Football Betting

UK bookmakers can Anglicise American sports in an attempt to make them more attractive to UK users, and in my opinion, it never works. One example is just posting the moneyline odds for games on the main page. Fafabet doesn’t do this, which is great to see. You see exactly what you want: moneyline, spread and total markets for each game, and then more if you want to click through.

Basketball Betting

I think Fafabet has about as many basketball leagues as I’ve seen anywhere else. There’s obviously the NBA, but Fafabet covers a wide range of EuroLeague and domestic world competitions, also. I expected Italy, Greece and Spain, but not leagues in Portugal or Uruguay. I can’t see much in the way of outrights, or player markets, so perhaps the depth isn’t as good as the width, but I still like it nonetheless.

Baseball Betting

Fafabet’s baseball section is fine, but it’s a bit tricky to tell right now given the lack of games. The markets that they do have for games are decent aside from that, but there are some games from the Dominican Republic, which you won’t find in many other places.

Ice Hockey Betting

The NHL takes up the bulk of space here, as expected. But there are also some French, Austrian, and Danish fixtures included. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there 12 markets listed, which is okay. For the smaller leagues that reduces a bit more, which is understandable. Overall, I think this is middling offering.

Fafabet Greyhound Betting

You can live stream greyhound racing on Fafabet (alongside horse racing). They have a full offering of UK and Irish races, and of the seven different meets I saw, all of them featured live streaming (all clearly visible with a green play icon on each). You can sort through quick picks, build a racecard or go through their ante post markets.

Fafabet Darts Betting

In terms of darts betting sites in the UK, Fafabet is a pretty decent option. There are markets for the Bahrain Darts Masters, European Tour, and Modus Series, and the upcoming Premier League, with an okay selection of markets within. There are a good amount of options in-play, with odds changing swiftly. It’s good to know that the site and its odds are properly reflecting the action going on in what is a European Tour match.

Fafabet Snooker Betting

As with the best snooker betting sites, there are markets for a few different tournaments, including the World Championships, the Masters and World Grand Prix. On top of that, the odds look quite competitive, and that goes for outrights on next year’s World Championships, as well as upcoming matches in some smaller tournaments. Although the odds are generally good across the board, there is definitely a lack of markets. For one selected match Fafabet has result, handicap, correct score and total frame markets. There isn’t anything for race to (frames) or any more novelty bets like odd/even total frames etc. which means that there are a fair few other sites who can offer more.

Fafabet Rugby Betting (Union & League)

This is pretty nice from Fafabet. Of course there are Six Nations outrights, alongside the Gallagher Premiership, Champions Cup, URC and Top 14. But there’s also the French D2, which you don’t see often. There is, however, a disappointing selection in markets, with only five or six per match.

Fafabet Cricket Betting

This is generally okay. Ideally I’d like to see some more events covered, but there’s a decent amount regardless. The odds are really good, and this is probably somewhere I will return to for my cricket betting, but that’s only if the markets are listed, because there are definitely some missing here that I could find elsewhere.

Fafabet Tennis Betting

Overall, I think the tennis betting at Fafabet is nice. Across the site it’s definitely one of the better sports in terms of in-play coverage. The odds are good, especially the in-play ones. It’s nice to see a Retirement Guarantee (your selection paid if their opponent retires hurt) and a tennis acca bonus of 50%. If they could add in more markets, and some tennis-specific promotions.

Fafabet Golf Betting

In terms of current events, this does look pretty good, with lesser competitions – such as the Sentry Tournament of Champions – listed among odds for the majors, Ryder and Solheim Cups. On top of that, you can select specific holes, see their layout, and how the current players on that hole are going round. Generally, it’s all pretty excellent, and I’ll be coming back.

Fafabet Motorsports Betting

Motor Sports bettors should be happy with the mixture of events at Fafabet. Understandably, the F1 grand prix takes centre stage, although it doesn’t have its own tab and is housed within the “Motor Sport” section. Here you’ll also find Formula E, MotoGP, NASCAR and Speedway. F1 is definitely the deepest here, which should come as no surprise, with plenty of markets and driver specials for the next Grand Prix of the season.

Fafabet Boxing Betting

There’s lots of boxing bouts to get stuck into here, and the markets look dependent on timings. Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have a decent offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s understandable, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away. Overall, I like what Fafabet is doing, even if there is a little bit of room for improvement.

Fafabet Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is still a large enough market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in a bit further.

Handball Betting

Betting on handball at Fafabet looks great. What is nice to see, and not something everyone does, is pretty much as many women’s tournaments as men’s, with the Women’s World Championships, European League, Women’s Bundesliga, and more. That’s on top of me’s leagues in Norway, Romania, Sweden and more. Handball is increasingly popular and Fafabet looks to be struggling in terms of providing a platform for punters to bet on various handball events and tournaments worldwide.

Cycling Betting

Fafabet offers betting on cycling for sports bettors who like to dabble in cycling betting, and comparing it with others out there it’s what we’d expect. There isn’t a load of markets, but that’s true of anywhere to be honest. What you can get is odds on next year’s Tour de France winner.

Aussie Rules Football Betting

As far as Fafabet is concerned, their event coverage is pretty standard – they have most parts covered. Their markets and odds are good, but not as great as others, but overall they are still a solid option.

Political Betting

This is pretty solid, but nothing incredible. There is decent enough event coverage for UK and US politics, including General Elections, next party leaders and next Prime Minister, with similar markets for the US. But it stops there. There are no by-election or local betting markets, or nothing from anywhere else in the world.

Entertainment and Specials Betting

This is quite basic. There’s a market for Dancing on Ice, but that’s it. No other TV shows, no sports awards shows, usual market type stuff (the next James Bond, for example) and, most surprisingly, none of the big film/TV awards odds such as the Oscars, Baftas or Emmys.

Esports Betting

There is decent betting available for esports markets, with markets  available on games such as DOTA 2, Counter-Strike, League of Legends and FIFA as well as many others. Esports betting is of course not as traditional as normal betting markets but it’s popularity is increasing as gaming grows in size year-by-year.

Virtual Sports

Fafabet has an excellent virtual sports section. Housed in the site’s main menu, alongside Sports, In Play and Casino, you can get straight to their virtual sports offering. There is football, racing, greyhounds, basketball, ice hockey, speedway, tennis, trotting and cycling. In short, there’s an absolute ton of virtual sports located here, with staggered timings so there’s always something going on.

Casino

Fafabet does have casino. Despite the name of the brand, it’s incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top. They also have some bonuses and offers that lead to casino spins should you win sportsbook bets.

Fafabet Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Fafabet has their “Join Now” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

The Fafabet app is very good.. The desktop version of the site is better than most, but the app does exactly what you want and that is not feel too far removed when you switch from one device to the next, but also being product-led, and designed to suit its purpose, rather than just be a mobile version. The Fafabet app feels really clean, and is super simple to navigate.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to Fafabet I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like Fafabet has got this part nailed.

Fafabet Responsible Gambling Features

As with all online betting companies, responsible gambling should be and will be an essential element of the service provided.

Expect KYC procedures and document supply as a matter-of-course, to confirm your account after you have deposited a certain level of funds and in the event of any large wins.

You can set limits for yourself across depositing options and daily staking options too, so you can set your levels and keep control of your gambling.

Expect Unibet to contact you via your preferred communication method if there are suspicious activities on your account. This protects your account from being accessed by someone other than you and ensures you control your gambling activity. Unibet have a legal obligation to question your activity if they believe it to be suspicious.

As part of Unibet’s commitment to safer gambling, they aim to make zero revenue from harmful gambling by the end of 2023.

Fafabet Review Summary

Fafabet is one of those sportsbooks that’s worth having an account with, even if it isn’t your absolute go-to.

In short, if you can find a market here, the odds will be some of the best around, and well worth betting with because of the value that you’ll get. The downside is that you may not find that market in the first place, and that comes down to market depth, rather than event coverage, because while Fafabet is spread very, very wide, it’s not that deep.

For example, you may want to bet on a particular cricket match, and while Fafabet will have that match listed, it may only have 5-10 markets for it, and the one that you’re after may not be there. The flipside of this is that you’ll find some markets here that aren’t listed anywhere else.

Here you’ll be able to bet on water polo markets, ski jumping markets, hurling and others, that Fafabet will be only one of a handful of sportsbooks that provide them. And for that reason, plus the odds, they are absolutely worth your consideration.
